Airing later this year on Channel 4 will be Phil Spencer’s new series “Phil Down Under”. He’s heading to the other side of the world to help emigrating Brits find their perfect home in Australia. He found the “perfect home” to voice his narration for 4 x 60 minute episodes at Music 4 Studios! Phil’s partner on Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location series (voiced at Music 4 Studios), Kirstie Allsopp, has also recently recorded her VO for her series “Kirstie’s Homemade Home” here as well.
Now that the football season has ended and the cricket season has begun, our weekly football podcast starring such luminaries as Mark “Chappers” Chapman, Graham Poll & Kevin Day has sadly come to an end. Don't fear though as it will return by popular demand in mid August when the “beautiful game” is back. We’ve enjoyed listening to the 3 of the boys bickering about Rory Delaps long throws, off-side rules and refereeing decisions (which Graham always struggles on!).
First signings to the newly resurrected Infectious Records, The Temper Trap came into Music 4 Studios to record an acoustic version of “Science of Fear” taken from their forthcoming album “Conditions”.
We transformed Studio 1’s vocal booth to accommodate x3 guitars, snare drum and vocals. After mixing the track we then continued with an interview with Australian network radio group DMG Radio via ISDN.

Comic legend Lenny Henry visited the studios to record via ISDN his new stop smoking radio commercial for the Dudley Stop Smoking Service. Clive Anderson, Sean Pertwee and Alex Zane (regular visitors to Music 4 Studios) have recently recorded various projects with us too.
Supersize Teens: Can’t Stop Eating aired last night (1st June) on ITV1. Music 4 Studios recorded the narration for the programme and provided the final mix.
Can’t Stop Eating, narrated by television drama star Lesley Sharp, is the story of two morbidly obese American teenage girls who underwent life threatening gastric bypass and gastric band operations in a bid to lose weight.
This is the latest in a series of shows surrounding the issues of obesity to pass through our studios. We love working on these shows but always feel slightly guilty when we start passing around huge plates of biscuits during the sessions!

Showbiz superstar Des O'Connor recently spent a day here at Music 4 Studios filming a TV commercial promoting his new album "Inspired"which has been produced to promote the sale of the CD in Tesco stores.
Studio 1's control room and voice booth both feature in the ad... we even turned Studio 2 into Des' very own luxurious dressing room! The commercial is due to air soon.
It's been a crazy week at Music 4 Studios.
The madness started Tuesday morning when Lady GaGa made a return visit to Music 4 Studios to promote her new single "Paparazzi" and her album "The Fame". Lady GaGa undertook several ISDN Interviews to regional stations as well as press interviews... her famous cup and saucer even made an appearance.
Meanwhile, Kirstie Allsopp spent Tuesday recording narration in Studio 3 for her current Channel 4 show "Kirstie's Homemade Home".
On Tuesday night, our client lounge was transformed into an intimate live music venue to showcase fab Australian band 'The Panics'. They performed their latest single "Don't Fight It" along with tracks from their album "Cruel Guards". Around 60 media and press industry guests attended and Music Week called it "the gig of the week".
On Wednesday, Placebo came into the studios to promote their new single "For What It's Worth" from their upcoming album "Battle for the Sun" and actress and singer-songwriter Demi Lovato (aka Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock) promoted her new single "Don't Forget".
After such a rock and roll week, it was also a delight to welcome Peep Show star Robert Webb on Thursday who came in to voice radio promotions for the launch of the BBC's Poetry season!
Congratulations to Music 4 clients BBC Radio 1 and City Talk who both have nominations in the Station Sound Award Category. We are very proud that we helped Magic 105.4 win a gold in this category at last years awards and we of course hope one of our client stations walk away as winners this year too.
